former Secretary-General &
former Under Secretary-General...
Mayako Ushida

I'm from Kyoto, Japan. I graduated from WVSC, on Sunday afternoon, May 16th 1999 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in International Studies. I was planning on attending Graduate School at Columbia University; however I went back to Japan and will be starting back at Tokyo University soon.
I attended the UNA-USA summit and youth conference during 8-12 July 1998. I am very excited about meeting other students that are also interested in International Issues. I really enjoyed hearing first hand experiences of real U.N. staff, Diplomates, and experts.
Susan and I were partners at the ODUMUN conference, 22-24 October 1998, in Security Council A. We represented, the United States. The topics were: Kosovo, Congo, Terrorism, and Nuclear Non-Proliferation. During Christmas break I went to Ghana for several weeks.
My second conference was Harvard National MUN in Boston Mass. 11-14 Feb. 1999. I represented Cyprus in World Health Organization. The topics were: The Ethics Of Genetic Testing, and Workplace Health. I also spent some time in Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural committee since Monika dropped out.
