Calamus
(Acorus calamus) Also known as Sweet Sedge, Sweet Flag, Rat Root, Sweet Myrtle, Beewort, Bachh and Racha.
Control/Domination Spells, Hexing. Add to spells for controlling or dominating someone. Burn as an incense for hexes. In small amounts, it acts as a stimulant. In larger doses, a hallucinogen. Eat the dried or raw root for this effect (2-10 inches). Use caution with this plant.

Camphor
(Cinnamomum Camphora)

The wearer of Celandine is aided in escaping imprisonment and entrapment. It can also be worn to cure depression or cause happiness. The wearer gains favor of the judge and jury in court. Also can be used for protection. Swallow-Wort "is good to sharpen the eye." To keep the law away, take one pound of Celandine and spread it all over your yard at midnight.

A healing wand can be made from cypress wood. The root, cones and greenery are healing, and the greenery can be burned as an incense. The incense can also be used to consecrate ritual objects.

Damiana
(Turnera diffusa) Also known as Mexican Damiana.

Use in lust philters and spells. Use in love baths. Burn to enhance visions. Damiana can be prepared in a tea for use in sex magick. It is a mild aphrodisiac and produces a marijuana-like euphoria. It can also be made into a liqueur or be smoked. Damiana is very good for enchanting a male lover. Some say Damiana tea is the best thing for hangovers. Use caution with this herb.

Dandelion
(Taraxacum officinale) Also known as Blowball, Cankerwort, Lion�s Tooth, Piss-a-Bed, Priest�s Crown, Puffball, Swine Snout White Endive, Wild Endive.

Use the root in a tea to promote psychic powers. Dandelion root tea, placed steaming beside the bed, can be used to call spirits. Used in Samhain rituals. The leaves are edible, and make a nice lettuce substitute when you are camping or backpacking.

Datura
(Datura spp.) Also known as Angel�s Trumpet, Devil�s Apple, Gabriel�s Trumpet, Ghost Flower, Jimsonweed, Jamestown weed, Love-Will, Mad Apple, Madherb, Manicon, Stinkweed, Sorcerer�s Herb, Thorn Apple, Toloache, Witches� Thimble, Yerba del Diablo.
Feminine. Saturn. Water. Hex-Breaking, Sleep, Protection.
Sprinkle around the home to break spells and protect from evil spirits. Datura is Don Juan�s �little smoke.� It is a depressant and hallucinogen. Use extreme caution with this herb. The leaves can be smoked to produce a shamanic state with visions and the like (Cannabis sativa can be added to them), but use less than two grams. This is one of the ingredients in the witch�s flying ointment. This plant is sometimes eaten to produce an intense shamanic state, but DO NOT try this, as the plant is highly poisonous is not to be mistreated. The greatest respect must be held for this plant and its powers, if you wish to seek it as an ally. A relationship with Datura is not to be taken lightly, and should last several years before one even considers eating the plant.

Devil's Shoestring

Dragon's Blood
(Daemonorops draco or Dracaena draco) Also known as Blood, Blume, Calamus, Draco, Draconis Resina, Sanguis Draconis, Dragon�s Blood Palm.

Dragon�s blood is resin from a palm tree. Burn to cause a lover to return. Place under the bed to cure impotency. Use in love and protection spells. Carry, scatter around the house, or burn for strong protection. Carry in a red flannel bag for good luck. Add a bit of dragon�s blood to other incenses to increase their power. It is also used to make an ink for use in magickal rituals.
