I am a half-breed and know nothing of my heritage except that my mother was a full Apache. All my life I have been called a half-breed in school, in the service, and by the public. I am damn proud of my breed and have gotten into many fights over it. But, alas, I know nothing of my tribe as I think that my mother was to ashamed to tell me of it. I personally think it is a shame because I know now how the various tribes are vanishing, not me I am proud and ALL if they are true in spirit should be proud of their heritage. I hope that someone out there will be proud enough to start a web site for the Apache nation.

The People of Peace have the same philosophy I have developed while re-discovering the part of my heritage that was ignored when I grew up in the "pass for white" era. I fully agree with your philosophy about government recognition, although the government has foisted this on us as the only way to be "officially legitimate" in some professions. Native Americans are the only group where the government "registers" individuals. History shows that government registration of individuals as members of a group has never been a good thing for those individuals. It can be, and frequently has been, used as a tool of persecution and repression. I am visiting your site for the first time, and I will come back to learn more about you. I am an artist of Eastern Cree (western Quebec) descent. My home page shows my artwork, which developed from Cree traditional work. It also tells the story of my reat grandfather. I've been reading through your pages and it looks like you've put alot of time into this. I was wondering how many people you have.
