Plot -
Speedball stops the villainous Boomerang from robbing a bank, without any help from fellow
New Warriors. The problem is, they don't exist anymore. Speedball decides to set out and
set up a new team. He starts at the Avengers Mansion, where former New Warriors, Firestar
and Justice, are staying as Avengers. However, they tell Speedball they'd rather stay with
the Avengers. Unfortnately, not far away, some scientists at Genetech unleash the power of
Blastaar. Meanwhile, Speedball tries to convince Rage to join, but he says he's too busy
with his schoolwork. At the bus station, Chris Bradley, the mutant called Bolt, meets up
with his girlfriend, Donna. But he accidently hurts her with his botls, because his powers
are out of control due to the Legacy Virus. Close by, Speedball tries again with Powerpax,
but comes up with nothing. However, Turbo, another former Warrior, is helping some firemen
put out a fire. Then, Speedball calls on team founder Night Trasher, but he says he has to
stay in Seattle at his new job. So, Speedball continues his search with Darkhawk, Cloak
and Dagger, and the Slingers, all who say no. Then, back at the Crashpad, Nova and
Namorita return and decide to help their old friend out. However, they get a call from
Genetech, telling them there's danger. Flying off, the team meets up with Turbo on the
way. Getting there, they find Blastaar, destroying everything in sight. Nova flies
straight at him, only to be punched all the way to Brooklyn. There, he comes across a new
hero called Aegis. Meanwhile, back at the fight, Namorita is knocked out by Blastaar and
suddenly, she vanishes from sight. Turbo and Speedball try to hold off the villain, but
it's not until Firestar and Justice show up that they actually slow him down. Not far
away, Bolt and Donna drive by the fight. Hoping to help, Bolt enters the fray, blasting
away at the evil being. Back in Brooklyn, Aegis offers to help against Blastaar.
Nova returns with Aegis in tow, and Namorita finally wakes. Justice takes the role of
leader, and team attacks together, finally forcing Blastaar down. The team collects
itselt, and they take Blastaar to the plant Vashoom, trapping him there on an uninhabited
planet, where there's nothing to kill. Justice and Firestar return to the Avengers, but
the New Warriors are together again, with Speedball, Namorita, Turbo, Aegis, Bolt, and
Nova! |
