Gorean
Philosophy
Question::
In Your opinion, how does the gorean
philosophy, fit in with the society of Earth
1998?
Ivanhoe:: The
gorean philosophy flies in the face of damn near
everything that Men and women of Urth are taught
today. It runs contrary to what modern women
would have men behave like. They would have Men
be controlled and tamed, aggressive only when
they desire; women would have power and
superiority among us, yet still have the
privilidges of being a lady. It goes against what
most politicians and rulers want to see in
citizens, people easily controlled and ruled
over, Men without aggression, women without
passion. Most businesses demand that one forfeit
concepts of honor to gain position. The society
of today wants instant gratification with no
responsibility. This is not what gorean Men and
women are like in any way shape or form. So, in
response, gorean philosophy has no place in
Earth's society of 1998, except in the hearts of
those who take responsibility for their actions
and honor and in those slaves who listen to their
instincts and live how their instincts would
guide them. Slaves sacrifice their freedom from
choice and responsibility for the freedoms of
unchecked sexuality and a complete lack of
inhibitions. Goreans are the inhabitants of the
savage garden. Some are hunters; some are prey.

Question:: In Your
opinion, what is the difference between a
"real life" gorean and an online one?
Ivanhoe:: A real
life Gorean is someone who has taken portions of
or all of the Gorean philosophy to heart. Be it
the concepts of living as you see fit, the Honor
or the Mastery of women. Just because a Man does
not have a slave in RL does not mean that he is
not Gorean. If he abides by his Codes and lives
as he sees fit, I would consider that one to be a
real life Gorean.
Question:: How do
You personally measure Your success as a Gorean?
Ivanhoe:: Complete
I would think. In RL I would imagine that I would
be a bit frivolous at times to most, but what the
hell, you have to have a sense of humor. One
can't always act like he's got a tarn goad shoved
up his ass. Makes for a boring Man. I think that
being able to learn and occasionally laugh at
oneself is a good quality to have. As far as
learning about Mastery, I still have much to
learn in what one might call technique, but we
never stop learning about that.
Question:: If You
were a gorean animal, what would you be? (Larl,
sleen, tarn, etc) Explain why.
Ivanhoe:: Being
who I am as a gorean male, I am all of them to
some form of another. Vicious and tenacious as a
sleen, strong and as proud as a larl, swift and
precise as the tarn, rising above petty things,
and as deadly as the ost snake. I am all of those
and strive to keep mind and body alike in top
form. One of the Scarlet Caste should strive for
all of these.

REAL
LIFE ISSUES
Question:: How
many females do You own?
Ivanhoe:: One,
safire{I}.
Question:: How did
You introduce the female to Your needs?
Ivanhoe:: I began
by explaining who I was and dominating her from
the outset. If she wished to be with me, she
submitted, completely. Being as she was from Urth
I started rather slow and taught her positions
and serves before commanding her to do so.
Question:: Since
Your female had no concept of the Gorean culture
and rites -- did You whip upon collaring? Her
reaction to such an act?
Ivanhoe:: Yes,
five full speed strikes from a belt (I do not own
a quiva yet) She bore it as kajira should; no
protests, just absolute submission.
*lassy winces
Question:: What
methods will You use to teach the female her
belly?
Ivanhoe:: Simple,
I command; she performs. If she seems prideful,
then I punish accordingly and put her in her
place. Should she get rebellious, she is punished
with the belt. For her knowledge I command her to
do positions and serves in real life and critique
or reward based on her performance.
Question:: Does
BDSM have a place in Your life?
Ivanhoe::
Actually, not much. Sometimes holding her in
place with some form enhances her discipline in
the furs as far as control. Also and affectionate
spanking is a good reward for her. She is on a
leash a lot, but I don't consider that to be BDSM
really.
Question: What
aspects of BDSM do you invoke into the gorean
lifestyle?
Ivanhoe:: See the
above question girl.
Question:: In Your
opinion does BDSM play a major or minor role in
the gorean lifestyle?
Ivanhoe:: I would
say minor; sure the bondage equipment has its
uses occasionally, but to me BDSM focuses on that
most of all. Being gorean with a slave is not
about tying her up, it is about using her to your
full pleasure and absolutely dominating her. One
doesn't need ropes or a paddle for that.
Question:: Would
You say Your more BDSM than gorean?
Ivanhoe:: No
Question:: Do You
permit the female safewords/limits?
Ivanhoe:: Not
really, if she doesn't trust me enough to give
everything, then she is not kajira. As far as
limits, I decide when to push and not to push
should she have those.
Question:: How
much online activity will actually be utilized by
You with Your female? (I.e.: slave positions,
serving, kneeling, etc.)
Ivanhoe:: I use
the positions and serves frequently. One other
custom overlooked by most is the passing of food
from her to me and back. Thus she realizes who
owns whom.
Question:: In Your
opinion is it the slave's responsibility to
support the Master?
Ivanhoe:: No, she
does his bidding so far as his orders are
concerned. It is the Master that goes out and
earns the daily bread. After all if she is going
to be a slave, she gives up the responsibilities
of fending for herself. She will however work and
earn her keep while owned.
Question:: Is it
Your intentions to go 24/7 with Your female?
Ivanhoe:: Isn't
that how it should be? While not always serious
and totally dominant, she knows who owns her and
how far she can 'push' while being playful.

Question:: Do You
intend on marrying Your female or any other
female slave?
Ivanhoe:: It is
under consideration, but for now the collar is
enough.
Question:: Do You
feel the institution of marriage to be a help or
hindrance between a Master and slave in a
relationship? (save for those already married
before entering the lifestyle)
Ivanhoe:: I would
consider it a boon. The dedication required for a
Master/slave relationship can be built on firm
grounds within a marriage I believe. The only
problem I could see would be should a slave 'beg'
out of her collar. I am unsure if that would be
grounds for divorce, so perhaps a married couple
should think long and hard about it before doing
so. The collar is just as important as that ring.
Question:: Do You
believe "contracts" have a place in the
gorean lifestyle?
Ivanhoe:: Only if
they are legally enforceable. Were one married to
his kajira and had kids in the equation, I would
have one drawn up that would prohibit using the
Urth legal system to gain advantage over her
Master should things not work out.
*lassy ponders
Question:: In Your
opinion should a Master get involved in His real
life slave's financial matters? (I.e.:
retirements, savings accts, expenses)
Ivanhoe:: Yes, if
you are going to spend a long time with a girl,
then you should be planning for all of that.
However, you had best not abuse such trust, ever.
Question:: Whose
responsibility should it be to maintain life
insurance, health insurance?
Ivanhoe:: That
would fall to the Master. Like I spoke of before,
he goes out and secures the means that both
survive on. But, should a kajira take a job
outside the home that offers a more advantageous
plan than the one that He is offered, seize it.
Question:: Do You
foresee taking any other slaves into Your home or
life, in the near or distant future?
Ivanhoe:: No,
quite honestly I have had two slaves in the past.
That is not for me. Using two slaves is a good
thing, but I do not have time to own them 24/7. I
have too many other pressing matters with my
career.
