Weaving, tailoring, knitting, etc. are holdcrafts practiced by many men
and women on Pern, as there is a constant demand for clothing, rugs and
tapestries, especially during a Pass. The Weavercraft, however, is the
best at making most fabrics, and has access to more patterns and
techniques than the individual holds. Boasting an on-site museum that
holds samples of past craftmasters' handiworks, as well as silks and
other complex fabrics and patterns from the Ancient times, the main
crafthall in Southern Boll is one of the larger halls on Pern. The
Weavercraft has five subcrafts: fibre production, dyeing, knitting,
tailoring and weaving. Apprentices start out unspecialized and may choose
a subcraft upon being promoted to Journeyranker.
