Sporting black-rimmed glasses, long blond hair, T-shirts from a dozen Hard Rock bands; Langly is not the picture of a conventional conspirator. He is the communicaions expert of the Lone Gunmen editorial collective and he is the one most likely to joke with Mulder, or invite him to "hop on the Internet to nitpick the scientific inaccuracies" of a new science-fiction show. His colleague Byers explaines Langly´s absence of meeting as a philosophical aversion to having his image bounced off a satellite in "Fearful Symmetry". He is evidently as conversant with current conspiracy theory as his two colleagues, and automaticly records every incoming phonecall. But however, is always ready with a laugh when Mulder´s theories get a little out there such as the idea that UFOs started the Gulf-war. Nevertheless, in "E.B.E", when Mulder insists that he turned the recording device off, Langly does not hesitate to lie to him. Among the Lone Gunmen, truth is as rare as trust.
