He is handsome, charming, well-spoken; in the second season episode "Sleepless", this perfidious man worms his way into the confidence of Agent Mulder while he plays his role of worship junior FBI agent to the hilt. To try to get closer to Fox Mulder, Alex Krycek even adopts some of his wry wit, such as "Well, it puts a whole new spin of virtual reality". But when he warns the Cigarett Smoking Man that separating Mulder and his partner Agent Dana Scully has not stopped their partnership, and that he has underestimated Scully as a danger to their secrets, his true allegiance emerges. In the dual episodes "Duane Barry" and "Ascension", the darker side of Krycek appears even more clearly, when he instrumental in the abduction of Agent Scully, and the silencing of Duane Barry. His treachery exposed, Krycek disappears from the Bureau, soon to become a greater threat than ever as he goes underground. In "Anasazi", the last episode of the second season, he murders Agent Mulder´s father, and frames Mulder for the killing.
