Although her exposure to the X-Files certainly has given her cause to question her own beliefs, dr Dana Scully is a sceptic, insisting that everything has a logical, scientific explanation. She went from medical school to Quantico against her parents´s wishes, where she taught for two years at the FBI´s training academy. From there she was assigned to work with Special Agent Mulder to keep an eye on him, determine if his activities are worth the time he spends on them, and the X-Files, with the strong implication that she was to debuke them. Her trust in his instincts and her respect for his integrity have eroded her sceptisism over the years they have worked together. By the cases she pursues with Mulder she finds her faith in a scientific and ordery universe challenged. Far from being a spy for the Bureau, Agent Scully is a full partner in the X-Files, focusing on assembling the hard evidence that will prove the truth is out there.
