On Friday, August 29th, the crew of the U.S.S. StarQuest
met at the home of David Elliott
The meeting started at 6:30 pm and lasted until about
9:30pm:
-
This meeting mainly consisted of general
conversation, with notes thrown in by myself
-
Dave's membership materials are in
the R2 Coordinators hands
-
Elizabeth Mains was introduced to the
group
-
Jon read from Terry's Persona Notebook
-
We discussed the upcoming Shatner convention.
-
Bill, Jane, Alan, Jon, Tasha, and Jeff are definitely going
for the whole weekend
-
We will be staying overnight at the Budget Host after spending
Saturday at BG.
-
2 rooms are reserved, a 3rd may be reserved if Elizabeth
Mains goes
-
Jon has ordered tickets
-
Bill Litz and Terry Christian will drive up Sunday to join
us
-
We will all see Shatner on Sunday.
-
Elizabeth Mains may join us (depending on her new job schedule)
-
Jon Litz ran the election in Bill Litz's
absence
-
I suggested an affirmation instead
of a vote to avoid the politics
-
After reviewing the election I have
made the following observations:
-
The vote was not unanimous with only
5 starfleet votes for affirmation (including my own vote for affirmation),
2 non-starfleet votes for affirmation, and 1 vote for Terry. Not
voting were Bill Litz, Jon Litz, Lynn Kornwell, Tasha and Bo Handshaw.
-
Since a majority of affirmative votes
were not cast, the election is not valid.
-
One more vote for affirmation would
have made the election unanimous and a clear majority..
-
Since the affirmation was NOT unanimous
and did not represent the majority of the Starfleet members on the ship
there will be another election for CO and XO, to be held at the next meeting
that includes a majority of Starfleet members.
-
Afterwards, those who stayed, played
a Star Trek board game
