U.S.S. StarQuest Captain's Report

Over the last week, the rest of us (except Dave) received our abbreviated memberships and the March/April Communique.  The May/June Communique is now on the internet as is the membership handbook, and the fleet list.
Jennifer is fighting to get the StarQuest again listed in the fleet lists.
The StarQuest needs to pay its annual Chapter Charter Fee (which originally was a 1 time fee?)

Friday, Tasha and I got to Dave's house for the meeting early (5:45), we had lots to do.  We spent almost half an hour sorting out all the free stuff that I had gotten from last weeks convention for the club to go through.  Liz and Neil showed up at 6:15pm and noted that they had to leave at 7pm, so I started updating them until Commander Paul Stacy of  K.L.A.W. arrived at 6:30pm.  I tryed to restart the meeting, but found myself fighting with the Simpson's for the attention of the group and lost.  At 7pm, Jon and Alan arrived, so Jon and I tryed to restart the meeting again only to then fight with Home Improvement for the attention of the group.  Jon and I gave up and the meeting ended and we all left.  There was a large agenda to discuss dealing with the convention and our status in Starfleet.  Unfortunately this isn't my house or my TV otherwise the TV would have been tossed off the balcony.  It's hard enough to conduct a meeting, let alone while the TV is playing.  Our meeting have been small the last 2 months (Dave, Liz, Neil, Tasha and myself usually), yet I've tryed to conduct meetings to the best of my ability, so I was very hurt that I was ignored and drowned out by non-sci-fi TV shows, that could have been recorded for later viewing.  I spend a lot of time keeping the StarQuest webpages up-to-day, coordinating events, doing the monthly reports and corresponding with members, fleet and potential members, and have attended every meeting that I was in town for.  Considering the obvious lack of interest in the club's meetings, and lack of involvement (except by Liz, Neil, Jon, and Alan), all future meetings of the U.S.S. StarQuest have been cancelled until more interest is shown and an alternate site and time can be determined.
Until then, the U.S.S. StarQuest meetings will be held in conjunction with the meetings of the groups in Fort Myers.
Our next meeting will be next Saturday, at the U.S.S. Dragonfire meeting.
