Parts is Parts, Pieces Parts!

Welcome to the Parts Box!

Here you will find models that were bought or given to me in an incomplete state that I'm taking on the challenge of building the unloved kits back into something that almost anyone would like to have in their collection.

These models will be built with cast off or extra parts that I already have. Very few new parts will be purchased for use on these kits.

I'm actually liking the challenge and creativity it is taking to rebuild these kits!

1966 Impala Dirt Car

This one was given to me by my good friend Gary S. as just a body and frame.

I took on the challenge of rebuilding it because no one wanted the model and this kit is what actually started me rebuilding kits no one wants using parts I have sitting here or making the parts myself.

99% of the interior was built out of plastic signs and I would guess about 90% of the other parts used came from my parts boxes.

The rims for the kit were given to me by Bill S.

Uh-Oh, I've got Gremlins!

These are an eBay parts lot find. I bid the starting amount only in hopes of getting the Custom Gremlin for a decent price to rebuild like I wanted to when I was younger and didn't have the skills to do it like I had envisioned. Now I have three Gremlins to work on and build like I want to with a minimal cost!

These will be made into a stock gremlin, a street machine gremlin, and a full custom gremlin.

Things might get interesting with these!

GMC Jimmy / Chevy Blazer

I received the first body from Bill S. and purchased the other two bodies and parts off of eBay in yet another parts lot that I found while looking for a replacement GMC Jimmy tailgate.

I'm restoring the Jimmy I received from Bill, slightly modifying the Blazer, and customizing the eBay Jimmy with a broken windshield into a truck that never was built from the factory.

70's Ford 4X4 Vans

These were found on a Facebook group. I have always wanted one of the Ford 4X4 vans since I saw one on eBay, but I didn't want to pay the collector prices they were asking for a kit I fully plan on building.

Now I have these to make into the style of Vans I know and love from the  70's and early 80's!

Now just where did I put those psychedelic decals and the Disco Ball?

Drag Cobra

This started as a complete accident.

I was inventorying a couple of parts bags I had bought at a model show and carelessly set the cobra body on a funny car frame I had set on the desk.

I noticed the body had slipped over the cage when I started picking everything up and an idea was formed.

Now to create something that makes people scratch their heads
and mutter: "What the..."

70's Ford Maverick

This one was one of my inexpensive parts box buys from a model show I was at.

The model was incomplete and most of the frame that was in the kit was unusable, but I had a parts bag that I had just bought with a bunch of MPC Funny Car frames and parts in it in my hand and a light bulb went on over my head.

I'm turning it back into a Funny Car with a real Funny Car frame instead of the poorly designed junk in the original kit!

I hope you have found something on these pages that was interesting to look at and hopefully it has inspired you to save that unloved model sitting in a box that no one wants.
