1966 Impala Dirt Car - 1

This
is what I'm starting with, a frame and body to a 1966 Chevrolet Impala
dirt race car that I was given by a friend of mine, a plastic For Sale
sign, a pencil & eraser, a sharp hobby knife, and a METAL ruler
with both American Standard and Metric scales on it. The reson I'm
using a metal ruler is the hobby knife blade won't cut into it when I'm
using the ruler as a straight edge to score the plastic sign.
I'm also going to be using the roll cage, transmission tunnel and dash from an AMT 1975 Firebird and some other left over parts from unknown kits out of my parts bin. While I could have easily just gone out and purchased a new kit or bought resin replacement parts, I wanted to build as much as I could on this one. Sometimes I like to challenge myself and well, this will definitely be a challenge!

More on how I built the missing parts can be found in the working with plastic signs page in the Tips and Tricks section. Please note that I usually sand the paint off the signs before I use them to make the pieces of the model, but I needed to leave it on for the working with signs page.
