Rail-Sliding Tip:

When attempting a rail-slide, or better known as a grind, please keep the following in mind. A lot of people fall on rails and in turn become afraid of them. It's a proven fact! The way to defeat the fear and the trick, is to not put your boots on the rail, but to JUMP on. You need to jump on to maintain your momentum. If you jump on with both feet at the same time, you will make progress. Then you work on your balance and that will come naturally. This trick will build confidence and allow you to overcome this trick.

FRONTSIDE GRIND
The rider approaches the left side of a rail then jumps and turns clockwise 90 degrees so the boards land perpendicular to the length of the rail. The rider then slides the length of the rail.
TIP: Make sure the rail is directly under your boots and you look at the end of it while sliding to help stay centered. Keep your boards both slightly angled the same way so you are actually grinding on your up hill edges to reduce the chance of catching your downhill edges on the rail.

BACKSIDE GRIND
The rider approaches the left side of a rail then jumps and turns counter-clockwise 90 degrees so the boards land perpendicular to the length of the rail. The rider then slides the length of the rail.
TIP: Make sure you get your body completely over the center of the rail and look toward the end to stay on it.
