The Island 2: Return to The Island

The Island II: Return to The Island is SGF's 7th film.  It is also the first one-hour two-tape movie made by SGF.  Ugine Frank is once again summoned to Mr. Hammond's lab.  The objective in this movie is not to take pictures of the animals on The Island, but to completely rebuild Mr. Hammond's dinosaur park.  The Dinosaur Hunter takes off in an air transport to start the movie off with a thrilling opening sequence: the plane flies over The Island and many dinosaurs.  The plane drops off the Dinosaur Hunter and his team, and then the happy little pilots leave them.  The team consists of Scott, a guy who likes alcohol, Peter, a boy fresh out of college who hardly talks, and Wilson, a guy who mumbles about killing a lot (He is actually an assassin hired by Darth Vader to kill Mr. Hammond's team).  Another upgrade in the movie is not a big red firetruck, but a nice new camper.  As the team heads into the depths of The Island Darth Vader and his squad of stormtroopers are dropped off by a star destroyer.  The Imperials' objective is exactly the same as the last movie: capture all the dinosaurs so that they can be used against the Rebel Alliance.  Vader and his men begin to capture dinosaurs unsuccessfully.  Meanwhile Wilson is tricked into being eaten by a t-rex.  Scott wanders off into the forest and meets Bill, a velociraptor that he befriends and can communicate with.  The team stumbles upon the long-abandoned Jurassic Park compound.  Here they find an injured baby t-rex so they try to heal it.  A big rex comes to the trailer so the team returns the baby.  The rex uses the restroom and Wilson pops out!  He is still alive, and only lost an arm.  The rex eats the baby rex, then leaves.  At the end of the first of the two tapes Bill is captured by the Imperials and the team decides to check out the giant creek for some dinos.  Meanwhile the Emperor discovers that Vader hasn't killed the meddlesome team yet.  He decides to go to The Island personally and take care of Vader's dirty work for him.  In the second tape the team runs into velociraptors at the creek and they are chased into the desert.  Wilson gets separated from the team and is captured by the newly-arrived Emperor.  The team has a run-in with a t-rex as they return to their trailer in an SGF landmark of a scene: the attack takes place during a storm, and it looks very real!  Then they go to the top of a mountain to get a good look around only to find a trap and a Spinosaurus.  The Spinosaurus kills the t-rex (even though it's not even half the size of the rex!).  Then the Spino pushes the trailer off of a cliff and destroys it.  The team gets away and decides that they must rescue their captured friends and then escape from The Island somehow.  They free Wilson from a prison camp and borrow a vehicle.  Wilson says that the Emperor has Bill in his private shuttle.  The team drives to the landing pad just in time to see the shuttle take off.  A stunt man gives Scott a Pepsi (which he now drinks instead of alcohol).  Hyper from the caffiene, Scott jumps onto the shuttle and tips it, causing it to crash and catch on fire.  Scott rushes in and comes out of the wreckage with Bill, who is healthy and alive.  It's a happy ending until the Emperor crawls from the debris of his ship and summons his Imperial Army.  This begins the climax of the entire film and yet another SGF landmark scene.  The Imperials, The Dinosaur Hunter and company, and many dinosaurs get tangled into a big exciting fight.  The Emperor is carried off by a pteranodon and all of the Imperials die.  The team of heros drives off but is chased by a
t-rex.  The Dinosaur Hunter yells for Mr. Hammond's help, and Hammond hears him from halfway across the galaxy.  Hammond comes in with his plane just in time to rescue The Dinosaur Hunter and his men before they became permanent residents of The Island.  Then they fly off into the sunset and the happy ending everyone has waited for occurs.
The Return to the Island is a landmark film that is action-packed and funny.  It is a perfect movie for anyone of any age to watch.
