The Island was the 3rd SGF movie created. It is the Dinosaur Hunter's first movie. The Dinosaur Hunter is a guy who has his own TV show and knows a lot about dinosaurs. Another new character introduced in this film is the tiny commander. He commands the small group of Imperials from a safe distance at all times..
The Island is about, well, an island. It was inspired by Jurassic Park. John Hammond is in the movie, but in this case, he has fallen into a pile of mutated gunk and came out looking like a neimoidian. He convinced the Dinosaur Hunter (Ugine Frank) to go to The Island with some of his friends and take pictures of the dinosaurs. Ugine agreed. The Island is actually a planet, located in the SGF part of the Star Wars Galaxy. It's just sort of floating out there. The catch is that the Imperials decide to go to the island too, to fulfill their task to "capture all the dinosaurs and turn them on the rebel alliance!" Unfortunately, the Dinosaur Hunter's friends aren't the smartest cookies in the jar, and all of them end up getting eaten or squished at some point in the movie. In a dramatic and comical scene at the very end, The Dinosaur Hunter's best friend, Jekk Porkins, (who also won the race in "The Race") got eaten by a t-rex and dies slowly. All he was trying to do was get his hamburger back! The Dinosaur Hunter survived his encounter with The Island, but not without losing his big firetruck and all of his companions who went with him. |
