Pseudo - Betula chalyb ferruginous, McDiarmid.
COMMON NAME: Steel False-Birch

FAMILY: Pseudo Betula

Description: "Cloud like" sweep of branches with dense ‘lacy twigs’, textural   peeling bark.  Color, from silver-grey in youth to deep reddish brown when mature.
Habitat: De-Forested regions unable to support arcaic organic models.   Well adapted to poor land - drought, damp, waste, etc.
Range: Previously wooded northern industrial latitudes, - (expanding as "habitat" extends into new regions).
Life Cycle: Manufactured, placed on appropriate site.  As the individual ages it oxidizes turning the mature reddish brown.  This process leads to the individual’s last state of life as a simulated fallen tree (representing natural decay) before being removed & replaced.
Atokous - without offspring.
