LAW AND ADMINISTRATION ORDINANCE (AMENDMENT No. 3) LAW,
5712-1952*
Amendment
of Ordinance.
1. The Law and Administration Ordinance, 5708-1948(1) shall be amended as follows:
  • Section 16 shall be replaced by the following section:
    "New version. 16.
    • (a) The Minister of Justice may publish in Reshumot a draft of a new version of any law which existed in Palestine immediately before the establishment of the State and is still in force in the State. This version shall embody all the changes resulting from the establishment of the State and its authorities and all the amendments made in that law after the establishment of the State.
    • (b) There shall be established an Advisory Board consisting of a Supreme Court Judge and a District Court Judge appointed by the President of the Supreme Court; the Attorney General; a representative of the Israel Bar Association; and a representative of the Law Faculty of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. The Supreme Court Judge shall be the Chairman of the Board.
    • (c) Within four months from the day of publication of a draft of a new version in Reshumot, the Advisory Board shal| examine the faithfulness of the draft to the original law and report to the Constitution, Legislation and Juridical Committee of the Knesset.
    • (d) In the light of the Advisory Board's report, the Constitution, Legislation and Juridical Committee shall determine the new version, which shall be published in Reshumot with the signature of the Minister of Justice and shall come into force on the day of publication.
    • (e) Upon the coming into force of a new version of a law, such version shall become the binding law and no other version of that law shall thenceforth have effect, and the plea that the new version deviates from the original law shall not be entertained.".
