FLAG AND EMBLEM (AMENDMENT NO. 2) LAW, 5747-1986* |
| Addition of section. |
1. Section 2 of the Flag and Emblem Law, 5701-1949(1) (hereinafter - the principal Law) shall be followed by the following section:
| "Obligation of flying and hanging flag. |
2A.
- (2A) The state flag sha" be nown in the following places:
- (1) over the Main office of the Government offices and of the Municipalities and the statutory companies;
- (2) Over the building in which the bureau of the head of the local authority is located;
- (3) Over the administration building of the institutions for higher education;
- (4) Over other public buildings and over the buildings of body corporates supplying services to the public, as specified by the Minister of Interior in regulations with the approval of the Knesset Committee of Home and Internal Affairs.
- (b) The State flag shall be hung over the bureax of the Ministers and the Manager Generals of the Government offices, in the courtrooms, and in the bureaux of other holders of offices in the public service, as specified by the Minister of Interior with the approval of the Knesset Committee of Home and Internal Affairs.
- (c) A person committing an offence against any of the provisions of this section shall be liable to imprisonment for one year.
- (d) Persons in charge shall be appointed to implement flying and hanging in the locations cited in subsections (a) and (b); in the event of an offence being committed against the provisions of this section, the person appointed as stated may also be indicted.
- (e) A person indicted for an offence against the provisions of this section shall have a good defence if he proved that he adopted all reasonable measures to comply with the said provisions.

2. In section 6 of the Principle Law, Paragraph (3) shall be deleted. |
| Amendment of section 7. |
3. In section 7 of the principal Law, the words "section 6" shall be replaced by "sections 2A and 6". |
