"UNDER CONSTRUCTION"

The Troop quickly developed and had a large following of scouts. With Clement Yip and the new leaders emerging, Clarance Davis and Edwin Jagan, they wanted to prove their worth from the experiences they gained as Pres. Scouts. Mr. Edwin Jagan (1964-1969) in particular, taught the boys that there was no subsitute for hard work, discipline and quality taining.

Parents soon got involved and more so the mothers ( am not sure because the name "Notre Dame, which means Our Lady) the Campbell's, Penco's, Bose's, Gopaul's, Osbourne's, Wood's (Ma) Spearss, Earle's, Lutmedial's and many more had a firm grip as their sons had to conform to the rigid discipline. The uniform's, the scarve's and the fund raising events were their responsibility and eventually from the Parent committee.

Twenty boys attended the Chaguaramas Patrol Camp (1968) in which they demonstrated quality standards. They had come to age and were ready to take on the might of the troops in the San Fernando District as performances were measured. In 1967, the Troop won the sir John Chancellor Flag District Preliminaries. Also won the Shaffick Rahaman Flag for Ventures in 1969.

Soon after the Jamboree, Mr. Edwin Jagan left and it was no surprise when seventeen year old Noel Penco, who incidenttally just missed representing Trinidad and Tobago at the world Jamboree, USA was asked to become the Scout Leader.

The Cub Section was led by Dominic Gonzales (Boy's RC School Teacher) and Cubs from that school carried the name of 1st. Notre Dame Cubs because of the school and church affiliation. It was used as a feeder for boys in the Scout section after the Common Entrance. Once a month, both the scouts and the cubs had some joint activity such as Church Parade, but operated independently from each other. We also shared the same color scarves.

Guyana was the venue for the third CAribbean Jamboree (1969) in which 10 scouts from the troop participated. Soon after the Jamboree, Mr. Edwin Jagan left and it was no surprise when seventeen year old Noel Penco, who incidentally just missed representing Trinidad and Tobago at the World Jamboree, USA was asked to become the Scout Leader.
