* There are seven JET positions in Toyooka: 3 junior high school ALTs, 3 high school ALTs, and one CIR. The three high school ALTs are hired by the Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education, while the three junior high ALTs are hired by the Toyooka Board of Education...

MINATO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL -- Lucky you! This is the smallest of the three Toyooka junior high schools, and in my not-so-humble opinion, the best.

KITA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL -- The identity of the new incoming ALT at Kita (which means "north") JHS is still unknown...�@�@UPDATE: The new ALT at Kita JHS is an American, from Texas.

MINAMI JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL -- The current ALT at Minami ("south") JHS, Roscoe Leslie (USA), will be starting his second year here. He's a really great, laid-back guy, and he'll help you out with the people at the Toyooka BOE, should you have any questions or run into difficulties.

MINAMI HIGH SCHOOL -- The current ALT at Minami High School, Richard Taylor (UK -- England), will also be starting his second year come July. He's great for laughs, and he and Roscoe have been excellent additions to the Toyooka JET community. Richard also teaches aikido classes every Sunday, through TIA. UPDATE: Regrettably, Richard has been ordered by the Prefectural Board of Education to relocate to Kobe (or Takarazuka), so he won't be in Toyooka this upcoming year. This comes as a shock to us all! His replacement will be a guy from England...

TOYOOKA HIGH SCHOOL -- Unfortunately, Jane will be returning to the UK this summer, and the name of her successor is as yet unknown... UPDATE: The new incoming Toyooka High School ALT will be a woman from New York ...

TOYOOKA JITSUGYOU HIGH SCHOOL -- The identity of the new, incoming ALT at Toyooka's Jitsugyou (vocational / technical) High School is also still unknown!

The CIR -- A new CIR from Spain should also be arriving around the same time as you. The only information I know right now is that her name is Marta; she comes from Barcelona and can speak Spanish, Japanese, English and French...
