SIXTH ANNUAL LEGACY HOUNOURS RMC's                                          HOCKEY HISTORY

The RMC Foundation held its Sixth annual Legacy Dinner on 25 September 2003.  Over 330 honoured guests attended the function to clebrate RMC's 's hockey history.

It is appropriate that on the 80th anniversary of the first RMC-West Points hockey game (the longest running continious international hockey series) that the theme of the Legacy Dinners was "Honouring Our Hockey Past."  Over the past 117 years, RMC has made many important contributions to intercolliegate hockey in Canada and achieved many siginficant moment both on and off the ice.

In order to pay tribute to the past, many former head coaches attended the dinner as special guests.  This included Danny McLeod, Tom Walton, Tom MacKay, Wayne Kirk, Bob Moses, Jacques Tremblay, Andy Scott and current head coach Kelly Nobes, plus members of the Carr-Harris family and many ex-Redmen.  A "Coaches Board of Honour" was unveiled at the dinner listing all RMC coaches going back to the first team in 1886.  In addition, a RMC Hockey Digest, (1886 - Beyond Y2K) was available free to those who attended the dinner.  This keepasake is available in limited numbers and contains many pictures, facts and vingettes from RMC's long hockey history.

Many former players attended to celebrate a tradition of which they were a part.  The dinner provided an opportunity to meet up with their "old coach" and former teammates to relive special memories shared in the dressing room.  The success of the Legacy Dinner was due to the support of Ex-Cadets, current and former staff and Friends of RMC.

The RMC Hockey History Digest is a compilation of essays and articles, many of which were printed in the Review, the Kingston Whig Standard and many other publications dating back to the early 1900's.  It is a comprehensive history of RMC Hockey which was over five years in the making.

A limited number of copies remain and are available for a $60 donation to the RMC foundation.  If you are interested contact Bill Oliver at 1-888-386-3762 or 1-613-541-6000 ext 6814 or
