Wava C. Yarnell, 88, Continental, Ohio, died at 8 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2000, in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Miller City, Ohio, the daughter of Gideon and Clara (Rigg) Brecht. In 1947, she married Clarence Yarnell, who died in 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of Emanuel's United Church of Christ in New Bavaria and its Women's Guild.
Surviving are a son, Wayne, Continental; a brother, Everett Brecht, Leipsic, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Leotta Yetter; and four brothers Virgil, Ray, Fay and Russell Brecht. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Martha Crookham officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Preferred memorials are to the church.
