Pete is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Benson Yarnell; his children Amanda (Fred) Maupin, Steve Yarnell, and Petey Yarnell; three grandchildren; brothers Gordon (Susan) Yarnell, and Paul (Shirley) Yarnell; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. His oldest brother Patrick Yarnell preceded him in death.

Services will be held July 20, 2006 at Imperial First Southern Baptist Church, Imperial, California at 10 a.m. with viewing 1-hour prior. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on July 24, 2006 at Calvary Chapel of the White Mountains in Lakeside, Arizona. Contributions may be made to a college fund that has been established at Compass Bank in Pinetop, Arizona (928-367-4177) for their son Petey Yarnell.
