Ray Albert Yarnell

Ray A. Yarnell, 77, of Searcy, founder and president of the Yarnell Ice Cream Co., Inc., died Sunday, (March 17, 1974). Mr. Yarnell was a past president of the Arkansas Ice Cream Manufacturers Association that later merged into the Ice Cream Division of the Arkansas Dairy Products Association. He received the Arkansas Dairy Products Association Hall of Fame Award in 1965.

He was past president of the Southern Association Ice Cream manufacturers, a director of the International Association of Ice Cream Manufacturers and was an advisory director of the Southern Association of Ice Cream Manufacturers.

He was a director of the Searcy Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Searcy Kiwanis Club in which he had a 100 per cent attendance record for the last 20 years. He was a former vice president of the White County Fair Board.

Mr. Yarnell was a member of the state Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas. He was a past chairman of the Official Board and a trustee of First United Methodist Church.

Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Searcy, AR.
