Obituary for Myrtle Yarnell

Myrtle A. "Marty" Yarnell, 68, of Petersburg, Huntingdon Co., Pa., died March 21, 2004, at Altoona Hospital in Altoona, Pa. following an extended illness. Born Sept. 15, 1935, in Three Springs, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon K. and Florence (McConnaughy) Flasher.

She was first married to Melvin Everhart, who survives at Petersburg: Later she was married to Alfred Yarnell, who preceded her in death March 2, 2003.

She is survived by one son, Mark Everhart of Petersburg; two daughters, Pamela Everhart-Forsht of Gilbert, Ariz., and Gloria Everhart of Huntingdon; one son, Matthew W. Everhart of Petersburg; two stepsons, John Yarnell and Larry Yarnell, both of Petersburg; and four grandsons; Jason Forsht, Brian Everhart, Gene Hammon and Benjamin Hammon. Three brothers and five sisters survive: George Flasher of Mount Union; Frank Flasher of Three Springs; Arthur Flasher of Elizabethtown; Edna Seachrist of Harrisburg; Virgina Barnard of Michigan; Donna Barthalow of Shippensburg; Mary Brennan of McConnellsburg; and Linda Watts of Mobile, Ala. One brother, Amon "Buck" Flasher, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Yarnell was a member of the Petersburg Church of the Nazarene. She was retired from Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon, having given 25 years of service as a nurse aide. She was a collector of cookbooks.

A memorial service will be held March 24, at the Petersburg Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Mark Mohnkern officiating.
