Will of Anne Yarnold

Lenchwick, Worcestershire, England

   In the name of God Amen: the three & twentyeth day of November
the sixteenth yeare of the Raigne of or Sovereign Lord Charles
the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland FFrance &
Ireland king Deffender of the faith & in Anno Domi: 1664
I Anne Yarnold of Lenchwick in the County of Worcester
widdow in unfavorable health & of perfect Memory ( praised
be God ) Doo here make & Declare this my last will and
Testament in Manner & forme ffollowing: ( that is to say

Imps I give & bequeath my Soule into the hands of Christ Jesus my only
Saviour & Redeemer by whose Merittorious Death & Passion I hope for
A glorious & blessed Resurrection: And my body to bee interred in
Christian buryall in the parrish yard of Norton at Lenchwick aforesd
& my worldly goods to be Disposed off as followeth --------------

Ito: I give & bequeath unto John & Richard my sons two Shillings & six pense apeice
to bee deliv'd unto them by the Executr of this my last will & testament
within six months next after my decease.

Ito: I give & bequeath unto my two daughters Anne & Alice two shillings & six
pense a peese to be deliv'ed unto them in like maner abovesd.

Ito: I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth the best Joyned Bedstead
the best feather bed with all things belonging to it:    And one Joyned=
=Chest & two shillings & six pense:

Ito: I doo make & ordain hereby my Son James my whole & Sole Executor of
this my last will & testament after all my debts & legacys payd &
funerall expenses discharged to take & enjoy all my goods whatsoever they
be undisposed of as aforesd unto his owne & for life:    And I doe Nominate
& appoynt my trusty & welbeloved friend, my Brother Thomas Harris of ~
Lenchwick aforesd And George Ewwans of Harbington in the county of
Worcester aforesd the ov'seeres of this my last will & teastament: And
I doe hereby Revoke & Renounse all & other former wills made before these
prsents: In wittness hereof I have hereunto Sett & Subscribed my hand &
Seale the Day & yeare first above written;

     "lb Ss Dd" - Pounds, shillings, pence.
     joyned = made by a carpenter, not homemade. These must have been fairly decent pieces since they are specifically mentioned in the will.
     hurden = "a coarse kind of linen"; possibly what we know today as tow.
     pillowbaire / pillowbear = "the cover of a pillow".
