Este é o único periódico peer-review [revisão por pares] devotado exclusivamente
a analisar
objetivamente as alegações da "medicina alternativa". Seu
propósito é aplicar as melhores ferramentas da ciência e razão para
determinar se as hipóteses são válidas e os tratamentos são eficazes. Não
irá rejeitar nenhuma alegação porque ela se encaixa, ou deixar de se
encaixar, em algum paradigma. Simplesmente buscará respostas justificadas
para duas questões: "Isso é verdade?" e "Esse tratamento
funciona?" Sua publicação foi endossada pelo Council for
Scientific Medicine, um painel que inclui 50 médicos e cientistas proeminentes
e cinco ganhadores do prêmio Nobel.
