1993, and i am in my third year of college, drifting aimlessly through.  i hate my major, my grades are horrific (to the point that i proposed to my friends a new fraternity, beta eta pi, with the admission policy of accepting only those people on, or on the cusp of, academic probation), and the only thing that keeps me showing up at school is the fact that i am on the college's newspaper staff...editor in chief, in fact...and i find comfort in that.

i don't remember any of the classes i was in that semester, the fall semester of 1993, save one...english literature medieval period to the romantic era.  i remember this class for one reason (outside of actually enjoying the literature)...

it was there that i met, face to face and in the real world, my best friend and wife.  they inhabit the same body.

donna has been such a bringer of stability for me.  she supported me, believed in me, and fell in love with me.  and i her.   i found in her something i didn't feel in any other person i had 'loved'...a feeling of completeness.

we married on 26 august 1995, after nearly two years of engagement.  i love her today more than the day i met her.

this is my shrine to her.
