Leeds
Day 1
By Katie
When we woke up on Saturday morning I think both Holly and I were glad that we weren't camping because it was raining and showing no signs of stopping.
We got to Leeds City Square and thankfully did not have to stand around for ages for a bus. On reaching Temple Newsam we realised that perhaps flares and trainers were not the right choice of clothing. We had to walk for miles before reaching the actual site. The path was a quagmire but once we got there things were looking better. The first thing we did was search for fit men as we are starved of them here in Northampton.
The first band we saw were Mo-ho-bish-o-pi who we had seen before. We were not impressed that they were not wearing their glitter!
We wandered the tents seeing various bands such as Clearlake, Linoleum, Crocketts, Blink 182, Animal House, Angelica and Lauren Laverne (the last two were particularly good) until Holly realised that Brian Molko was about to show his face. We got to the mosh and the heavens opened but thankfully we were thrown Crashland ponchos earlier in the day.
Then still euphoric from seeing Placebo, Holly and I fought our way to the front of the Stereophonics so I could see them, got crushed. We then crowdsurfed out to see Ian Brown. We also met some lovely men, one of which wanted to break into our lolly supply. Great day, best day of festival apart from Pulp.
