Day 2

By Holly

After surviving the first day we just could not get enough of the festival, so the next morning we were ready for some action and drama. We got to the festival site quite early but were not let in for ages which meant missing Crashland (how gutted was I!) We got into the site, waited for some hangers on (my sister and her friend) then went headllong into the day. The first band we saw were JJ72 , who are Katie's favourite, their set was not as good as it could have been but we blame the acoustics in the tent (something like that) Anyway I was quite happy as a lovely man was standing in front me.

After JJ72 we went for a wander to the main stage where we caught the end of the Gorky's set which was very good and very happy playing Sweet Johnny, Poodle Rockin', and other such greats. As soon as Gorky's were done the atmosphere darkened the indie children disappeared the rock children unearthed themselvesand Idlewild came on, they were wicked as usual and did indeed finish with 'Captain,' so familiar yet so brilliant. The Deftones were on after Idlewild and they scare me so we went for a walk round.

After our leisurely lunch we stumbled across a rather rocky Dark Star and an even rockier Queens of the Stone Age. Elastica did not play, much to my disappointment so we were subjected to Black Box Recorder instead ARGH I HATE THEM SO MUCH!!! Luckily I managed to talk all the way through them, ha ha Sarah Nixey dressed up in your stupid airline hostess uniform, we all hate you. Graham Coxon was up next and he was the punk revival with a wicked band including Colin from Idlewild (I think that is his name) on lead guitar.

Badly Drawn Boy followed and was just excellent, he came on with a huge water pistol and the biggest bottle of Jack Daniels I have ever seen. He played the album and attempted to play one of his Valentine's Day music boxes. BDB was amazing and after him we saw the end of Beck but not much and then oh yes the mighty PULP! Opening with Common People Jarv was a bit croaky but still cool. The rain poured but we did not care, new album stuff was played new album stuff was played one called Weeds was especially goodthey played old stuff like E's and Whiz, This is Hardcore and Help the Aged. No Babies or Razmatazz but it was a perfect end to a very good day.
