| The Transporter (2002) Cast:Jason Statham, Shu Qi The Transporter stars Statham as a mercenary courier who gets tangled up in a kidnapping scheme that involves white slavery and the usual mobsters in this fast paced actioner which doesn't even slow down for a microsecond to develop any plot threads. In other terms this is basicly one actionscene all put together.Still one's not complaining especially when Corey Yuen directs with a slick polish that makes the actionscenes enjoyable enough to be well worth seeing in this silly yet compelling actioner. What can I say? The actionscenes are well mounted and the story never lets you think about it for even a second. This is brain-dead stuff but hey, I was mildly entertained and as far as action fluff goes, one can do a lot worse then this. Plus Statham cuts a decent action figure and has some chemistry with Qi. If anything else it cerainly beats Yuen's other American feature No Retreat No Surrender hands down D.Corey Yuen **1/2 |
