| Today You Die (2005) Cast:Steven Seagal,Treach,Nick Mancuso,Kevin Tighe, Jerry Trimble Steven Seagal stars as a modern day Robin Hood who is set up for a bum rap by his former employer, ticked off over this unpleasant turn of events, he escapes and decides to pay back his employer in the usual Seagal style in this lame actioner. If anything else, Today You Die at least signifies a slight improvement over Seagal's latest suckfest Submerged. This time Seagal at least does his own dubbing, Seagal does have a few moments during the shootouts and the stock footage is very well spliced in. Everything else though is just awful, from Seagal's trademark akidio scenes (So obviously stunt doubled) to the usual unexcitement from the bland story and plot. Today You Die's title hints at bad movie fun, but you'll end up groaning from boredom than laughing at the movie. Today You Die is a sub-par actioner with not much interest, in other words it's what you'd expect from a STV Seagal actioner. Only die hard Seagal fans need to apply. D.Don E. FauntLeRoy*1/2 |
