| Superman III (1983) Cast:Christopher Reeve,Richard Pryor,Annete O�Toole,Robert Vaughn This time Supes does battle against a multi-millionaire genius who plans on destroying the world, Pryor is the computer genius who unwittingly helps the bad guy in this crushing disappointment which started the downward slope of the series. Really the only fun to be had in this sequel is the sub-plot which splits Superman in half, turning him into a good Clark Kent and a bad Superman, there is some amusement in seeing Superman straightening the leaning tower of piza as well as getting drunk, but the movie never explores this interesting angle, a better movie would�ve made this the premise and then we would�ve had something, I mean seriously what if Clark Kent had to defeat Superman to save the world? ] Unfortunately the potentional of this plot thread is never realized and such as it, the villians come off as a stock threat at best. I mean seriously, Superman just fought the battle of his life, and his big challange now is to fight some computer genius? Richard Pryor offers a few moments of amusement and Lester adds some swagger to the actionscenes but seriously this gets a passing grade only for our fondness of the other two, so if you must see Superman III, do so on TV.
