| No Holds Barred (1989) Cast:Hulk Hogan,Joan Severence, Kurt Fuller, Tiny Lister Jr. Movies that often star wrestlers our usually crap, there have been few exceptions, if it stars Roddy Piper or The Rock it maybe surprisingly watchable or in the case of They Live with Piper, excellent fun however one wrestler fits that fits the mold perfectly (The mold that can't churn out anything decent) is Hulk Hogan and No Holds Barred in his debut. The whole movie is laughably terrible with no merit to be found really, as producer Vince McMahon could've spun into a WWF episode but as a movie, it has no plot to back it up, the actionscenes are lame and the acting is downright dreadful. No Holds Barred is cheesy, stupid, dreadful and utterly horrid. The only thing this movie has going for it is that it's so bad it's quite hilarious. I mean with lines like this To Wit: Hulk Hogan:What's that smell?! Bad guy assassin: "D-O-O-O-K-I-E!" Hulk Hogan:Dookie? Who can't enjoy the laughable awfulness of this movie. So yes No Holds Barred is hilariously entertaining, the perfect bad movie but if your not into awful movies to ridicule with friends, then avoid this like the plauge. D.Thomas J.Wright |
