| Nature Of The Beast (1995) Cast:Eric Roberts,Lance Henriksen,Brion James Eric Roberts and Lance Henriksen give excellent performances as two criminals (One wanted for the hatchet murders, the other for ripping off tons of money) who's pathes meet when Henriksen gives Roberts a ride, what results is a frightening and well acted thriller with an excellent twist ending which give the movie a kick. Nature Of The Beast has a real disturbing edge to it not seen since C. Thomas Howell picked up Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher, infact the thing that's really striking is the overall darker edge of how both characters tick. Henriksen and Roberts have a weird chemistry that is out of pure identification for each other as they both realize that they are both evil men without a purpose in life. The twist at the end is a real kick in the pants as it just scrapes the psychology behind the evil nature of the two men, in which I wanted just a little bit more, however that being said Nature Of The Beast is truly memorable as a thriller which has more texture then most straight to video movies. Let alone when compared to the awful Road Killers. D. Victor Salva *** |
