| M.I.2 (2000) Cast:Tom Cruise,Dougray Scott,Anthony Hopkins Tom Cruise returns as secret agent Ethan Hunt who must track down a super villian (Dully plaued by Scott) in this hideously unentertaining actioner which goes overboard on it's own obnoxious hipness to provide a truly tiresome actioner. M.I.2 proves that Hollywood just doesn't know what to do with John Woo, almost everything this guy has made has been mainly enjoyable, but not brilliant like his Hong Kong actioners, and with M.I.2 this is his greatest disappointment as Woo's style doesn't gel with the lame story. While nowhere as bad as his made for TV Pilot Once a Thief M.I.2 is still a giant step backwards for the man who did Hard Boiled. In terms of action M.I.2 doesn't come alive until the final 15 minutes and by that time I was so bored I could care less about it. it's a movie strictly for ardent John Woo fans. Dull beyond words.
