| Messenger Of Death (1988) Cast:Charles Bronson,Trish Van Devere, Laurence Luckinbill,John Ireland,Jeff Corey,Daniel Benzali Charles Bronson gives a surprisingly sharp performance as Garret Smith a journalist who probes the mystery behind the slaughter of a Mormon family in this mediocre thriller which is watchable but doesn't leave much impression despite a suspenseful first reel. One thing you can't fault Messenger Of Death with is having a bland premise. Messenger Of Death is definitely one of Bronson's more promising pictures of the 80's, especially with Bronson's other clunker also directed by J.Lee Thompson.(See Death Wish 4 ) While Messenger Of Death is a lot better then Bronson's 80's fodder it fails to even measure up to Bronson's earlier classics. Bronson fans should definitely enjoy his he-man hijinks but others are advised to catch it on cable if they are interested in seeing it at all. In either case, it doesn't leave much impression.
