| Bloodmoon (1997) Cast:Gary DanielsChuck Jeffreys,Keith Vitali,Frank Goshrin When a killer wipes out martial artists a retired cop and the #1 dectective team up to annihilate the killer in this martial arts thriller which features the required fight sequences and really gained my attention due to the holograph box. Still Bloodmoon is by far one of Daniels' better movies. The plot works better then the movie it rips off (Tiger Claws ), Of course Gary Daniels is more charismatic then Jalal Merhi and overall a better actor. Also he knows his martial arts and on this side of it, Bloodmoon doesn't let you down.. The fight sequences are well staged and when Daniels displays his kickboxing the movie becomes very enjoyable, as great of a martial artist Gary Daniels is, he's a (very) lousy actor. Better then Jeff Speakman and Jalal Merhi but not as good as Don "The Dragon" Wilson or Jeff Wincott.. However the high energy action set-pieces make up for the inconistencies of the character development. Nobody ever watches these things for acting but Keith Jeffreys and Frank Goshrin do put in good performances, especially Jeffreys who plays the part tounge in cheek and contributes some effective comedy relief. Also it has a cool holograph box. D.Tony Leung. Siu Hung *** |
