ADMISSIONS POLICY

The San Beda College of Arts and Sciences is open to students who meet its academic standards and are willing to abide by the rules and ideals of the College. The CAS Board of Admissions and Retention sets criteria to ensure that the school accepts only applicants who will benefit the most from a Bedan education.

In selecting applicants for admissions, the following credentials are considered:

  1. grades received in previous work;
  2. scores achieved on standardized tests, e.g., SBC Entrance Exams, National Secondary Assessment Test (NSAT) and College Scholastic Aptitude Test (CSAT);
  3. recommendations from officials of school last attended;
  4. performance during interviews.

Admission of transferees is limited only to those seeking enlistment in first and second year of desired course. To qualify for admissions, the transferee applicant:

  1. should not have a failing grade in any subject(s) credited in the academic program he is enrolling in San Beda College;
  2. should have a weighted GPA not lower than 2.20 counting all the subjects taken in the school(s) he was previously enrolled in, and which subjects are to be credited in the academic program he is enlisting;
  3. should not have withdrawn, nor should have an incomplete grade in more than one (1) subject per semester in the school he was previously enrolled;
  4. who has completed his first year college in another school but would not otherwise qualify for admission in San Beda College as transferee for reason(s) mentioned above, may be enrolled as first year student again, provided he signs an affidavit waiving any and all credits earned in the school(s) he came from. However, failing or dropped/withdrawn marks should not exceed three (3) subjects;
  5. should pass initial interview and evaluation of credentials to determine qualification for entrance examination;
  6. who has enrolled in two or more colleges or universities will not be given priority unless grades are exceptionally high;
  7. should have passed the SBC Entrance Test and interview conducted by the Office of College Guidance Services; and
  8. should submit all other requirements as may be deemed necessary by the Board of Admissions.
