The Central Ohio Railroad
The Central Ohio Railroad
The railroad opened on April 27, 1854 in Perry Township.  It provided Perry Township farmers easier access to the Ohio River to ship their agricultural goods.  Its construction also created several new jobs.

In modern Perry Township, the railroad is still an important feature.  Throughout the years, the railroad has created hundreds of jobs, and it is still in use.  Although it is not as important to the township's economy as it used to be, a few townspeople are still employed by the railroad.
