A Message from the BOP Chief Pharmacist...
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the home page for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Pharmacy Program.
This site is designed to be a resource for BOP pharmacists to facilitate and enhance their roles as clinicians and preceptors, as well as for those pharmacists seeking other career options. This site also contains information for pharmacy students who are interested in learning about the BOP first hand through one of our training programs.
The BOP Pharmacy Program is comprised of practitioners from both the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps and United States Department of Justice (USDOJ) Civil Service personnel systems who serve in a variety of locations and environments.
As such, it can be helpful to have a central point from which to share ideas, opinions, and information, and to reinforce the mission of our program.
This site can also be used to communicate our accomplishments, address pertinent issues, and to learn from each other thereby fostering the growth and development of our organization.
I invite all interested to speak with a member of the Pharmacy Recruitment Workgroup or a BOP pharmacist to learn how challenging and professionally satisfying our careers are and have been.
