I had the idea for this one about three weeks before I actually started it. It's a complicated thing, so I'll just explain it as simply as I can. You know how people used to think the world was flat? At the top, that is the edge of the earth. Water is pouring off the side and raining down into the splashing lava. (Yes, that is lava, not blood.) The arms shooting out are from a sea monster beneath the surface, and over to the left is a mermaid diving in. The blue sky above is what the people know, and the scene below is what they fear. Get it? Got it? Good. I made the canvas this is on, which is why it's a non-standard size.
