MyOwnWorld2 was created for the expression of my creative side (and that's also my Yahoo ID, for those not familiar with Yahoo). Hi! My name is Alicia! I love decorative painting and I especially love One Stroke painting. My motto is, "If it can be still, it can be painted!"
I also enjoy getting dirty in the flower beds and learning all I can about gardening. I was hoping to take Master Gardener classes these past few years through our local county extension office but had to turn down my acceptance due to various scheduling problems, and since then I just haven't had the time to even think about it! But in the meantime, I've gone on to become a One Stroke Certified Instructor, which means I've been certified to teach One Stroke painting classes. While I am a decorative painter, I'm also a SAHM & WAHM (Stay At Home Mom/Work At Home Mom) with three young daughters; Olivia, 9, who lives with her father in Oregon, and Anna, 5, and Shelby, 3. My husband Stuart and I live in a small Georgia town called Pine Mountain, home to Callaway Gardens Resort, between LaGrange and Columbus (where Fort Benning is). We live out in the country and have enough cats outdoors to fill a barn -- which we have! At last check, we had about 20 cats, most all of them each with a name, and almost always a litter on it's way it seems! We also have a wonderful family dog that's part Golden Retriever and part Cocker Spaniel...don't ask me which part is which...she just looks like a shorter-than-normal Golden Retriever! |

Even though I live in Georgia, I've traveled around a bit, so the computer comes in handy now to stay in contact with friends and family. I grew up here, but I've also lived in Alaska (twice), Oregon, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina (my birthplace, Charleston). I graduated from high school in Alaska (Anchorage) and later attended college for a while there too. I've also traveled to Hawaii, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. My husband Stuart's from Connecticut and says he likes it here a little better, but misses his family and friends some too. So if you ever visit the South, remember, not all "Southern folk" are country bumpkins that've never been any further than their front porch!! |
