It
would appear that other clubs our size have also complained about the situation
as it was also brought-up at a CAMS committee meeting a couple of months
ago.
I still intend to meet with the CAMS
State Manager to see what he has to offer us. I have recently approach
a few companies with a proposal to obtain some corporate sponsorship to
cover the CAMS fees and running costs of our club next year...I will keep
the members informed of any further developments.
We may also be able to run a raffle
to raise money for next financial year.
PAST EVENTS:
Our Treasurer David Stone once again
represented the Modified Register at the Second Interclub Round of the
Rob Roy Hillclimb in his Nissan 1400 powered 2 door...Good one David!
COMING EVENTS:
'Sir' Mike Barker is going to have
another shot at the Mt Tarrangawa Hillclimb (10th Nov) again
this year so if you can make it up there I would encourage you all to go
and support Mike. Mt Tarrangawa is near Maldon and a really good day...a
nice drive too!
Historic Sandown (9th &
10th Nov)...This is always a great day and very well organised
and run by the MGCC. MMR member David Floyd is the Secretary of this important
meeting and I will be helping-out in Scrutineering at Friday's private
practice session and later as a Track Marshall on the weekend as my MGB
Racer still isn't ready....Anyone else who would like to join me please
let me know, as the MGCC Racing Register is always looking for volunteers
to help-out at these meetings and it's great fun too!
