SoundSync analyzes input wire files for animation on dag nodes and uses this information to apply animation to a final model. The animation information in wire files must be consistent and must be derived precisely for each keyshape from each keyset.
The rules in constructing keysets for SoundSync are as follows:
- Place all keyshapes and keysets for a single animation in one wire file because SoundSync reads animation data from only one wire file per editing session.
- Create keyshapes by applying transformations to one or more dag nodes in an Alias wire file. Keyshapes are stored as keyframes within the wire file.
- Use cluster animation for models you want to use in SoundSync.
- Create all keysets to share a common neutral position. For convenience, the neutral position is usually frame zero.
- Transform all keyshapes within a given keyset using the same set of dag nodes.
- Use dag nodes for only one keyset. If you want to create a layered effect, layer clusters in Alias as multiclusters.
