Random thoughts and explamations
Like I said, I have too much free time. Here I'll post things I've thought about, but are too small to make a whole page about.
Is Ken's real full name "Ken"?
In the Japanese it is; Ichijouji Ken. However, in the English, I'm not so sure. The reason I'm thinking about it is because in "The Captive Digimon" Davis calls him Kenneth! Yes, that was just to taunt him... but on Pokemon (sorry to bring up Pokemon on a Digimon site... but this is a really good example), Jesse is short for Jessica, not because it's been shown in some official profile, but because James has called her that at least twice. Kenneth Ichijouji? O_O I prefer Kenny-boy ^__^
How old is Ken?
11? 12? You're both wrong... Ken's real age is.... 10. Think I'm kidding? I'm not. In the Japanese version, he's 11, but the Japanese say they're a year older when they're actually not. It's part of their culture to count you a year older on New Year's. In creating the English dub, they made take place a year after the Japanese version since the characters act so much older than their actual age. So, in the English he's 12.
Why was Ken's hair ruffled and volumized in his Digimon Emperor outfit?
Wellllll....
- He's already been to school and soccer practice, so his hair gel wore off.
- His Digimon Emperor outfit conducts electricity.
- His glasses are pushing it up.
- His anger makes it stand on end.
- It takes a while for his volumizing shampoo to kick in.
- It's a reference/tribute to Sam.
- It disintigratd with his Digimon Emperor clothes, so it's a wig.
And the boring, but most likely real reason is...
- So the Digidestined wouldn't discover his true identity right away.
How do you pronounce Ichijouji?
First of all, it's not "Itchy-JOO-ji." Whoever pronounces it like that must be dragged out into the street and shot... Oh, crap. *suddenly remembers Yolei and runs off* *shortly later* Anywayz, say "It-chee-joe-jee." Now say it really fast. That's it. Probably.
