Many years ago, the King of Pirates, Gold Roger was executed, but before he died, he muttered the infamous words, �You want my treasure? Go get it. I�ve hidden it there.� It was the legendary treasure, One Piece, and with those last words the frantic search for One Piece began, and the world entered the pirates era. One Piece is the story of Monkey D. Luffy, who gained an unusual ability from consuming a Devil Fruit known as the Gomu Gomu fruit. It gave him the powers to stretch his body like rubber, but the catch is that he will be unable to swim forever. His mentor, Red Hair Shanks gave him his precious straw hat and Luffy promised to return it one day when he has managed to become an outstanding pirate. Luffy�s dream is to become the King of Pirates and find the legendary treasure One Piece! The story basically revolves around Luffy�s journeys and the friends and enemies he encounters along the way. It is a story of friendship, courage, comraderie and life. One Piece is already among the most popular manga and anime series in Japan and it�s quirky originality and captivating storyline has endeared countless fans to laugh and cry along with the chronicles of the Straw Hat pirates.
