| Here is a quick summary of the various differences found between the anime and manga One Piece from the beginning of the story until the latest chapter of the anime/manga. | � Luffy encounters Coby when his barrel was picked up by Alvida�s pirate ship. Luffy first meets Nami after he leaves Alvida�s ship, Nami is shown as stealing from a navy ship Alvida has attacked. � When the Straw hats first meet Usopp at the cliff, Luffy immediately recognizes him as Yasopp�s son. � During Sanji�s flashbacks, it is shown that Zeff lost his leg while saving Sanji. He cut off his leg using the chain from an anchor. � When the Straw hats arrive at Logue Town, Luffy gets lost on the way to the execution site and encounters Smoker, who defeats a band of pirates by the pier. Smoker then directs him to the execution site. � On the way to the site, Luffy enters a pub known as Gold Roger. He converses with an old man there about the pirate king. � Sanji undertakes a cooking competition in order to win the �Elephant Tuna�. He wins. � Usopp meets a sharp shooter and his daughter who had once been defeated by his father, Yasopp. Usopp is challenged to a duel and wins. � After leaving Logue Town and before entering the Grand Line, the Straw hats encounter a young girl and an old dragon, and help her save the dragon. � Upon entering the Reverse Mountain, their progress is distubed by the appearance of a foe from the dragon side-story. However, he is easily disposed of by Nami. � When travelling with Vivi, they show various side-stories, including Buggy�s and Coby�s adventures. During one such story, Luffy breaks a machine aboard Going Merry apparently used to collect water for a shower. |
| � Luffy encounters Coby on board Alvida�s ship. Her ship did not attack or take over any navy ship. Luffy first meets Nami during Buggy�s Arc � he helps her when she is being chased by Buggy�s men after stealing the Grand Line map. � The Straw Hats only discover that Usopp is Yasopp�s son when Usopp tells them his father is a pirate. This is when they were eating in the restaurant. � Zeff lost his leg after saving Sanji, when they had arrived at the abandoned island. Zeff gave all the food to Sanji and ate his own leg to survive. � Luffy immediately manages to find his way to the execution site, only meeting Smoker after getting there. � Luffy never encounters such a pub and I wonder if that old man even does exist in the manga at all. � Sanji did not participate in any cooking competition � it is doubtful there was even such a competition � he instead bought the �Elephant Tuna� from the market. � Usopp does not meet any sharp shooters or their daughters neither does he partake in any duel. � What dragon? � No such incident occurred. � No such machine was ever shown to have been used or broken. Side adventures are shown as the title pages for each chapter. |
