Not everyone can be a hero.

Super Bowl IV matched the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs against the favored NFL champion Minnesota Vikings. Former Drake player Karl Kassulke was a starting safety on the Vikings' "Purple Gang" defense that gave up the fewest points in the NFL that season.

The Vikings, however, were confused by the Chiefs' tactic of throwing underneath the coverage.  Kansas City coach Hank Stram quipped, "Kassulke was running around there like it was a Chinese fire drill."

The Chiefs won the game 23-7, and Kansas City quarterback Len Dawson was named Most Valuable Player.  Kassulke's NFL career was cut short by a 1973 motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down.
